DESCRIPTION:Nowadays obesity is one of the main risk factors for a number of different neoplasms, with significant impact on diagnosis, response to treatments and clinical outcomes. The metabolic, inflammatory and hormonal alterations related to a weight condition are relevant to carcinogenesis and tumor progression. At the same time, bariatric surgery and new metabolic drugs medications are modifying the landscape of prevention and the management of the obese patient. The Bariatric & Oncology Summit was created to explore, under a multidisciplinary key, the complex relationship between obesity and cancer, with the purpose to address clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic aspects. The conference will gather specialists from surgical, oncological, endoscopic, nutritional and anesthesiological areas to share updated evidence and to define integrated pathways. The goal is to improve the management of obese and obese-oncological patients, to optimize prevention and treatment strategies, and to promote innovative standards of screening and personalized care.\n\n
